| Re: Gray Hairs
Gray hairs can be caused by a B12 deficiency. Given your vegan diet, you should definitely have your B12 level checked...your doc should be able to order a simple blood test. I've been told that anything below 200 is considered deficient, but even a normal-low value can cause symptoms. Interestingly, I recently noticed that I had a bunch of (new) gray hair. I had a blood test last week and my B12 level is within the normal range, but low. I'm now wondering if my new grays are related to the B12? At any rate, I've started taking a B-complex supplement...hope it will help with the gray!
Anyhow, you should get your B12 level checked. If it's low, speak with your doc about taking a supplement.
I've heard that black strap mol can be effective for folks who have gray hairs as a result of a vitamin deficiency...I think it's more for iron though. I'd look into the B12 (and take supplements if needed) first.
