What do you think about taking pre-natal pills after coming off of birth control? - Vitamins & Supplements Message Board

Brand is from Rainbow light. I read that bc pills depletes the system of important vitamins and minerals. Considering the fact that I took the for so long(6 years straight) I'll be going through some withdrawal symptoms...so the extra vitamins can help combat this...what do ya think?

withdrawal symptoms from birth control??? never heard of that but the vitamins certainly won't hurt you. i think everyone should take a multi-vit!

Hi Jessica,

I went off birth control pills in February and I didn't really go thru any withdrawl symptoms.

What did happen though is that my periods got all screwed up. I didn't have one for 3 months, then I had a very heavy one, then a light one, then a heavy one. That's only 3 periods in 9 months! I talked to my OB about it and he said that it can take awhile for the body to start having "regular" periods after being on the pill so long.

He is going to have me do some hormone blood testing when I get my next period (on day 3) to see how everything is going. I have been feeling very tired and kind of moody so he wants to check it out.

Thank you for the replies. I've been feeling very tired lately, not sure if it's because of the weather or withdrawal...I'm going to continue to take the prenatal vitamins.

Time will tell.
