Depends whether you are anemic or simply have low-ish ferritin levels.
Most people who are anemic or have very low ferritin levels will take a more substantial level rather than one that is in a multivitamin, which you might want to take as a simple "pick me up".
It has taken me 3 years to get my ferretin from 8 up to 82, taking high daily iron supplements. I'm on Ferro Grad-C at the moment and it contains 105mg of elemental iron (325mg dried ferrous sulphate). My doctor has now added another lot of iron twice per day which contains 18mg as he wants it up to 125 and to stay there.
