Alpha Lipoic Acid - Vitamins & Supplements Message Board

What can you tell me about Alpha Lipoic Acid? I read that it helps with nerve damage. I believe that is what I have after foot surgery . I am being told by my podiatrist that what I am experiencing is scar tissue rubbing against a nerve in my foot. It is a debilitating feeling to say the least. Even though I do not have neuropathy which I understand that Alpha Lipoic Acid helps, I do have a nerve problem going on in my foot that I am looking for a solution to, or at least something that will give me some relief. I would be interested in hearing from anyone who has had improvement from using this vitamin.

Has anyone used this vitamin and has its helped you with your neuropathy problem, if so how long before you started noticing results and how much did you take. I would be very interested to hear from someone who have had results with foot neuropathy.

Not sure if ALA works for neuropathy, but I took two different things...Glutamine Powder which is available at any drug store. Mixed it with water, seemed to really help. Also a perscription for neurotin might be your solution...but try the glutamine powder first. Hope that helps.
