Low Iron and Vitamin D

I am 45 and recently I found out that I have a low iron level. Test result said 6.5 and Doc said it should not be below a 12. Vitamin D was a 27 and it should not be lower than a 25.

the low vitamin D I can see but the low iron makes me think I have something worse going on inside..

This must be the explanation for my constant charlie horse's I have at night for the past 2 months? Maybe my headache and my achy legs during the day as well?

They have suggested I take Vitron C one tab a day (65 mgs which I started taking Saturday) and 1000-2000 V IU of vitamin D3 each day. Also to eat red meat two times a day and more leafy green veggies. I do not eat red meat much at all. I like chicken, turkey, fish.

I sometimes forget that eating right is not just about NOT eating bad fats and sugars

Anyone have any advice as to when the best time of day is to take these two supplements might be? I have actually had differing opinions not only from my dr who gave me my results but from two pharmacists. Its confusing...and how does calcium fall into play here? Do I want to purchase a Vitamin D3 with other vitamins in it as well?

Any advice is greatly appreciated
