Methyl or Cyano B12??

My first ever post is with a question. Well, many LOL but will start with this one.

First, I will give a brief background. I was diagnosed with a B12 deficiency in Nov. '09 with a level of 85. In Nov. '10 was diagnosed with Subacute Combined Degeneration of the Spinal Cord from the B12 deficiency. Right now I am at 1000 mcg Cyanocobalamin shots every 3 weeks. Question .... what do you think of taking daily Methylcobalamin sublingually also?

For now, I will leave it at that

well if the cyanocobalamin isnt working for you then i would recommend the methycobalamin.
but just to be safe you should check with your doctor.

Re: Methyl or Cyano B12??

The way the cyano vs methyl was described to me by my naturopath is that some people don't have the enzymes in their livers to methylate the vitamin B so don't absorb the cyano vitamin B's properly.
My naturopath recommended the methyl version as I have adrenal fatigue and she feels some liver issues. When I take regular vitamin B (cyano) I basically pee it all out (neon yellow pee syndrome), taking this B complex that is methylated I very rarely have that (which I would assume means that I am absorbing the vitamins better), I also take this supplement 3x per day.

What that means with a B12 shot from a physician, I have no idea.
