Probiotics for Bacterial & Yeast Overgrowth
I just wondered if anyone had a lot of knowledge about probiotics.
Since my weight loss surgery was the jejuno-ileal bypass (JIB), they blocked off the majority of my small intestine and bad bacteria grows there and sometimes causes problems. Also, due to my taking antibiotics for so long to combat that problem, I also developed a systemic yeast problem -- I am not so much talking of the feminine nature -- but in my intestinal tract. In fact, I had this problem when I thought it was the bacterial overgrowth (aka "blind loop syndrome"). It causes bloating, irregularity, skin problems, anal itching, all over aching, and more.
When I get really bad, I take diflucan (five tablets five days in a row prescribed by my doctor) and I get a higher power probiotic than normal (normally I take Align). I have been using FLORA Q which cost well over $60 for 30 capsules at Wal-Mart (you have to ask the pharmacist for it. It is not kept on the counter). Anyone familiar with the Flora-Q products by Kenwood Therapeutics?
I hope I hear from someone! Thanks so much!
