40.00 mg's of Folic acid - how much B-12

I just found out that a friend of mine is taking 40.00 mg's of folic acid (which is VERY high) - & I know you need vit B-12 to balance it (she gets a percription) .
How much vit B-12 would she need to combat her intake of folic Acid ?

I should also add she has been having severe hair loss , she has had radiation done on her thyroid , & also has ADD.

Additionally I would like to know if there are any other vitamins , minerals or supplements that she could take to help her hair loss , ADD or Thyroid ?

Thank you Craig
