slo-mag... does it REALLY prevent GI upset?

my doctor recommended magnesium supplementation with my vitamin D supplement (i have vit D deficiency). several formulations of mag have given me diarrhea, so after researching the different forms, i tried mag glycinate, as it was supposed to be the best at preventing GI issues. but i'm still having loose stools...not diarrhea, but still needing to go several times a day and the consistency is tending toward diarrhea (lots of info, sorry). anyone tried slo-mag, and does it REALLY prevent GI issues?? it's quite spendy, so just hoping to get some testimonials before i invest in an expensive product. thanks!
