| Re: b12 level of 290
Dreamcatcher,
The normal level for B12 is 200-900 pg/ml, but according to my doctor if you are being supplemented they like to shoot for keeping your levels around 400-500.
I have a variety of medical issues that cause my levels to be low and I get B12 injections-sometimes weekly, sometimes monthly- depending on my symptoms.
Your hemoglobin is on the low side too, so maybe the combination of low end B12 and hemoglobin is causing you to feel bad-plus you have a 6 month old!
I would go back to your Dr and again explain just how bad you are feeling and ask to have another B12 injection to get your levels up a little higher. Having another injection certainly isn't going to hurt you so I can't imagine that they would object. You can also take oral or sublingual b12-over the counter, if your doctor won't give you the injections.
Hope you get some answers and feel better soon!
