high cholesterol and glucose levels

I just got back my physical results and am worrying about my numbers

Cholesterol: 214mg/dl

LDL caluculated: 134mg/dl
Triglycerides: 126
Chol/HDL ratio:3.9

Glucose: 97mg/dl

is this normal? please advice. thanks.

Your numbers are not that bad. Here is the breakdown of your ratios:

TC/HDL = 3.9 looking for <4.5

LDL/HDL = 2.4 looking for <3.2

Trig/HDL = 2.3 looking for <2.0

As you can see, your trigs are only slightly high; otherwise, nothing in the risk category. If you want to fine-tune your numbers further you could probably do so with exercise and low carb eating. For your trigs. try Neptune Anarctic Krill oil. There is a cholesterol board here where you may want to post as well.
