Iron supplement prescription too high?

My doctor prescribed me 325 mg of iron to take THREE times a day

isn't that too high?

Re: Iron supplement prescription too high?

What kind of iron is it?

There are a few salts you can take and depending on the salt the dosage varies.

If you are ever in doubt that a doctor has written an incorrect value on a prescription talk to the pharmacist. Part of their job is to check prescriptions have correct dosages on it.

Re: Iron supplement prescription too high?

thanks. i called my doc and he said it's the right amount. i guess 325 mg in ferrous sulfate is really only 65 mg. or something like that... ?
