Post Vitamin D

I like to find out why vitamin D levels are dropping in some people. I myself take 50 000U but was never truly told what the cause is.

Re: Vitamin D

A major reason has been discussed in medical journals and that is that campaigns for skin cancer have been so effective that people are avoiding the sun or covering up too much and many don't get enough sun exposure anymore which is where our vit d mainly comes from. It's a balancing act, you don't want to get too much sun and get skin damage but at the same time you need enough sun exposure to be healthy because vitamin d is important. our bodies are constantly using vitamin d so if it isn't being replaced through normal means (skin exposure to the sun) your stores just run low. Other people may have malabsorbtion issues which cause it but that's far less common.
