Lap Band Surgery

Has anyone had the Lap Band surgery or know of anyone who has had it done? I was wondering if it was sucessful and did it carry the risks as bariatriac surgery.

I haven't had it yet, but am working with my PCP to get all of my insurance requirements in order. I have researched this for almost a year now and am convinced it is the procedure for me.

Follow this link for a TON of info on it.

If you have tried all the other programs out there ''diets'' and just lost a few lbs and keep putting therm back on and then lose put back on yo -yoing most of your life and the gastric by-pass is your only option, then you should really think long and hard about the ''lap-band''...and think about 4 to 5 years on down the road of complications form the lap-ban... Infections, slippaged, rusting,,minor repairs to the band itself.
and other complications from having the lap ban.

Please get with your Dr or Specialist Doctor's in the field of gastric by-pass for weight loss! ask him to check with the latest complications from lap-band surgerys from the past 5 years...because the lap ban surgery is a new thing out on the medical market right now.
200.000.00 lap-ban-band systems have been ''successfully place worldwide. but how many of those will have complications about 3 to 5 years from now??

The lipo rouyx gastric by-pass is better from what a Dr has told me.
I have not did either one so I can't say. this is just my opinion of it, but just letting you know what I heard through the grape-vine.

I have been approved for the roue n y gastric bypass. Done laparoscopically. I am nervous, but determined this is the answer. My doctor's recommend the bypass as opposed to lapband. I would love to talk to someone who has recently had the surgery. I'm scheduled for March!! What do you think?

If it's your last ''straw'' and you never has any luck keeping your weight off, then I think its a wonderful Idea.
the lipo GASTRIC BY-PASS is great from all the people I talk to that had it....you maybe sore for maybe 2 weeks but thats bout it then its just watching what you eat mainly/and exercise/take your vitimin supplments ect,,,ect,, and have fun watching them scales move backwards and the fun part is you keep it off the rest of your life
they have support groups post sugery ask your Dr.
Join support groups on the internet, chat boards, can't give out(web-site) that info on here so do a google serch.

Btw ''Dr Wade Barker'' In Dallas Texas..is highly recommened by many many people, checkout his web site.
your going to be fine.
