| Lap Band Complications
Hi all. I am trying to find information about lap band and complications of it. I had a friend who just passed away on Sunday due to lap band complications.
She had it done about 3 years ago and all was fine. About a year and half ago, she went in to have it filled. About a month later she became very sick. She was taken to the emergency room and they found that her lap band had slipped down around her stomach. It had cut the circulation off and essentially, killed the stomach muscle. They ended up removing her stomach. After that, she fought numerous infections because of this. She lost the battle on Sunday and she was only 26.
Has anyone ever heard of people losing their stomachs after their lap band slipped?
