Post So about this Mayo Clinic Diet....

I've noticed a lot of people singing the praises about this diet, but there is information that is missing. Lots of people get excited about losing 4, 5 even 12lbs. in a week. I'm sure some know about water weight and that it's the first to go and you can carry up to 15lbs. of water in your body.

What I'm wondering is what happens next? In the following weeks do you lose anything more? Is this reliable weightloss? Will it saty off? Or is it another fad diet that gets rid of water and that's pretty much it?

Yes, it is a fad diet. But I am sure it works temporarily.

Well--- there are 2 varieites of this diet-- the new one where you are on 4 12 days i think--then off for 2 and it is pretty much like the Atkins--

and there is the old one as well-- it is a strict 14 day plan and you have to eat a sspecific meal plan and its is very strict about what you can and can't have-- my experience is with this one- I did it about 7 years ago--stuck to it and lost about 18 lbs in that 2 weeks-- your going to gain back at least 2 pounds initially just because you are eating again--- but I didn't gain it back and actually continued to lose all together about 50 lbs--

THEN i got pregnant again----

mms72 - how long did it take you to lose the 50 lbs. Was it like a steady 3-5 lbs. a week as I have read it should be? Did you look more toned afterward?

That's impressive. Good work. Are you using it again?
