Since fiber is such an important part of weight loss, I've added more fiber to my diet, which I think is making a big difference in my weight loss. The only problem is the unfortunate gas side effect. Anyone have any suggestions on how to minimize the gas? I want get it under control before something embarrassing happens.
I dont know if this will help you or not but I was having trouble fitting fiber in my diet as well so I went out and got fiber tablets. Just a generic brand, you can take up to six a day. I usually take two in the AM, one in the afternoon and two before bed. No side effects like gas just makes you more regular. Very helpful to myself, dont know if its any help to you.

Well I'm finally getting enough fiber. The food I eat is high enough in fiber to cover my needs. As for supplements, I was told to avoid those. Those are meant as a short-term remedy for people with colon problems. Eating a high fiber diet is something a person should do for life, which is why fiber should come from real food.
I agree with you DonutsNcoffee. Fiber should be part of your daily lifestyle.
What I have found is to drink plenty of water when eating especially high fiberous foods. It helps with the bloating and gas. Also, perhaps with time, your body will become accustomed to the increased fiber intake and regulate the gases. But, try the water trick. It definately helped me.
Good Luck To you!!
