hey lou, the water tating sweet to you is a good thing, that means you are getting used to not having sweets because the water really isn't that sweet. here are a couple crazy things that get me over my sweet cravings: drinking a few sips of heavy whipping cream and eating philadelphia cream cheese. it works i swear. also you can eat all the sugar free jello you can stand. also try some lo-carb bars, the best ones i have found are on qvc....they are called near zero bars...the chocolate ones are the best, the peanut butter ones are second best. i am on my 6th day, and i have no desire at all to cheat. these things get me through it. good luck!
I don't think I'll ever get over my sweet tooth, but I'm doing my best to stay away from them for now. I may have to try the bars at some point. Today was hard too. I went to a graduation party for my cousin. The only thing I could eat was the chicken and salad which was fine. When they served cake, I really, really wanted a piece. But I resisted. It was hard.
Glad to hear you resisted the cake. Good for you. I had a tough day, left over Papa John's olive pizza has called my name ALL day. At one point I thought I would crawl out of my skin, I wanted the pizza SO badly. If I could just eat one slice, count that as my dinner with fruit, it would be different. But, I know myself. In the past, I have done well on a plan and took that ONE bite and it ALL go down hill. I have worked TOO hard over these past few days to stop now. A thumbs up to everyone who beat temptation
I just bought a product "Sugar Blocker" you put it on your tongue for 15-20 seconds and then swallow it with a glass of water. It is suppose to absorb the sugar you take in and also make sugar taste "bland" therefore having no cravings for sugar. I'm starting it tommorrow so I'll let you know how it goes. It's faily inexpensive also. I have not one sweet tooth but a mouth full. If I could get away from the 6-8 cans of soda, 2 candy bars and 7 sugars per cup of coffee at 6-8 cups a day. I would be in much better shape. I researched all the ingedients and they are all natural and harmless. It's also diabetic friendly. From
Pura Pharm. It's online.
