Thanks!
I'm also following a "lifestyle" change. I take in about 1500 calories per day which consists of 50% carbs, 30% protein, and 20% fat. I bike 60 minutes every morning and lift weights in the evening 6 times a week. I've lost 17 pounds, 16 of which was fat. My body fat has gone from 22% to 12.5%. My pant size has gone from 33 to 30. Best of all, I'm not taking supplements or following special diets like Atkins, low-carbing, 3-Day, or any of the other diets that are trend these days.
I've done a lifestyle change and met with a dietician. She has helped me re-vamp my food choices to include things that are better for me and that actually taste decent as well. Due to a herniated disc in my back, I can't do much exercising yet, but as I slim down, I hope to pick it up. Right now, I spend time in the heated therapy pool walking.
I started on June 1st and have lost 10 pounds. Don't get over excited, I have over 100 lbs to lose and the heavier you are, the quicker the weight rolls off at the beginning. But I am happy about it.
Hey jdog (neighbor!!), my path to weight loss began with a dietician, so I am excited for you! It really did change my life and forced me to start making healthy decisions... Keep it up, a dietician really is a smart place to start, listen to him/her... they will help you lose weight SAFELY and PERMANENTLY!!! Congrats on your weight loss!!! Keep up the good work!!!!!

Hi ML84! When I first started in late March, I tried the Atkins diet. Made it through 2 weeks of induction & lost 5-7 pounds, can't remember for sure. But I hated it & couldn't stick to it any longer. Gave up & gained back about 4 pounds.
So in early May I went back to my old "tried and true" - counting calories. It's quite easy and I don't really feel so much like I'm dieting (even though I call it a diet out of habit) - it's more like I'm just changing my portion sizes. I still eat whatever I want, but usually try to choose healthier foods. I allow myself 1200 calories on weekdays (give or take 50-100), but don't count on the weekends. And for exercise, I either use my treadmill or do a video (Walk Away The Pounds, TaeBo or Kathy Smith).
I've lost about 13 pounds so far, and my goal is 20-25. I'm not losing it very fast, but I'm OK with that. I've found that when I lose only 1-2 pounds per week, it's easier for me to keep it off.
Good luck to you! And congrats to all of you who are seeing success!

Hello!
ACV is Apple Cider Vinegar! You can take it either by pills or liquid mixed with water or grapefruit juice!
I take the liquid. I started taking it in grapefruit juice and now just with water..no lemon or honey..just water....it is not so bad...I will let you know if I have any luck with it as I just started. Good Luck!
