Here in Livingston Texas we have been pounded for the last 3 days with storm after storm. I am not talking about your regular storm these are severe. I have always loved to cook when it rains. Mostly sweets and anything with cheese or bread. Basically anything that will screw up an eating regimine. What do you do when you are stuck inside and bored and love to cook??? It is soooooo frustrating. Besides visit you guys online? And believe me, that helps.

I used to live in Texas....East Texas. love those storms!

What to do? If you are cooking something for your family....maybe fix them something they like a lot and you don't. I HATE coconut! So...when I have to make a dessert, it's coconut cream pie! Everyone loves it but me!

Another thing is maybe develop some other "in door" or "rainy day" fun tasks...like cross stitch.

Then there is always...here.

Just don't give in! You are worth the discipline!

I know how you feel. I am in Texas also. What is Livingston close to? I am near Ft. Worth. I hate all the storms, and you are right, there is nothing to do but eat. I am going crazy! I just wanted you to know, you're not alone!

I know what you mean! Cooking is actually a "side job" of mine, so I make money doing it... and it is very tough. Over the last year though, I LOVE trying to make very healthy stuff, disguised as junk! LOL! It always makes me feel good when I make something healthy, someone eats it and doesnt realize it's healthy!!!! So that is how I spend my time... give it a try

I challenge myself and try to come up with fun stuff... that is healthy and delicious... yep, I even do cookies and cakes!!!!! Good luck, hope the rain stops soon!!!

Livingston is southeast of Huntsville and Northeast of Houston. Almost directly south of Lufkin. We actually got a break yesterday (Sat) but it looks like we are in for it again today. Plus it's fathers day and I miss my dad. It's gonna be a real test. Maybe I will surprise myself and pass.....
