for me excercising before bed is awesome...i still have all energy from earlier in the day and i just go to the gym, wear myself out with approximately two hours worth of cardio...get back, shower, eat something small *i'm not a big eater as it is* and i sleep like a baby...
but like goin' cruisin' said...excercsise, at any time, is good for you...much better than doing nothing at all...so if you want to workout at night, go for it...
