Good morning all! I see I am the first to post....I hope everyone is resting; especially Andrea, SMom, and Whirl! My heart goes out to all of you--take care of yourselves!!!!

Well, yesterday wasn't a total loss; I ate decently. I had a scrambled egg w/cheese for breakfast, a salad with ham for lunch and dinner was some chicken and a cup of green beans. I didn't have any huge cravings for carbs although that dozen of glazed donuts I bought hubby at Wal-mart sure looked yummy. I'm feeding them to the kids for breakfast; hubby only like them when they're fresh and my problem is that I like them anytime!!!!(Pop em' in the microwave and it's like they were just baked!) So, I'm getting rid of them as fast as I can. They didn't have any to sell individually or I wouldn't have gotten so many!

Today should be a little easier on me; I've got most of my stuff done for VBS. I need to go to church later to work on some stuff--nothing major. I'm happy to see that we're supposed to have decent weather next week; decently being MILD! It's tradition that during VBS it's usually 100 degrees everyday and the church isn't air conditioned!!! Lucky us! I think they are calling for a chance of rain everyday which is a bummer, but we can't have it all-can we?

Only good thing about this rain is my garden is finally growing. Now, I need to find the time to take care of it!!

D&C: I know what you mean about finding it hard to get back into exercise again. That tends to be my greatest downfall. I will exercise consistently for a long time and then for some reason (vacation, illness, generally just too much else to do) and then it takes forever for me to get back into the habit. It's something that I must FORCE myself to do for a few days then it gets easier. Just try to do a little something each day--even if it's 15 minutes. Gradually add some time on and I think you'll find that after a week or so; you'll get back into the groove. Don't feel guilty about your wonderful vacation---it was well deserved.

I just read my "Body for Life Book" that I got yesterday and it says how there are 3 types of people. Historical people long for the days of the past--say, when they were in HS and athletic, thin, etc. Then there are those who live in the present and think that the condition they are in today is the only one they will ever be in--they can't see themselves any other way. That leads to the next type of person----the ones who live in the future. They can see themselves improving and will work hard to see that it happens. These are the "doers" as I like to call them. It's my hope that we can use the past to learn from, the present as a path to lead us, and the future to make all our dreams come true.
I may not be using the exact exercise program in the book (it seems complicated to follow) but the inspiration is definately there!!!! After reading it; I know that I can change my body. It's all up to me--no one else. I want to live in the future and make all my dreams come true. I figure that losing weight is the biggest battle I have in my life at the present moment--so if I can conquer that--I can conquer anything I put my mind to. I'm reasonably fit, in good health--there's really nothing holding me back----except maybe my attitude- which has been drastically changed by reading this book! Ican't wait to receive the second part of my order--the success journal. Just reading those stories gives me the motivation I need to get going!!! I highly recommend it!

Well, I must get busy. I figured I'd do a little light housecleaning today. It's raining outside--so no pool or garden work. I'll be back later to chat.

Jen

Good morning, everyone! Hope you're all in a better mood than mine. As I just mentioned on the "Strength Week" thread, I'm really frustrated because I've been working twice as hard this week on diet & exercise, but the scale has only moved 1 lb so far. Normally, when I cheat a little now & then and exercise half this much, the scale would show at least a 2 lb loss by now. I know we're not talking about a lot of weight here, but I've been stuck at 145 and really thought that challenge would get me over the hump. I'm going to stick with it though, so let's hope the scale surprises me next time I get on it!

DP: What you said about AP (...and keep smiling and supporting US through it all!!! You are such a strong amazing person, I admire you so much...) I couldn't have said it better!!! Good luck at WW on Saturday. Hope all is well at home now.

AP: DP is right, we love ya! Glad your appt went well yesterday. A little ray of sunshine through the clouds, huh?!! Keep smiling, hon!

Jen: Wow, you sound really inspired! That's great - go kick some diet butt! LOL Good job feeding the donuts to everyone else!

SM: Glad to hear you're on the road to recovery. Bet you'll be glad to be off those meds soon! Hang in there!

Whirl: How ya feelin' today? Hope you heal fast!

Donuts: Sorry about the 9 lbs, but I'll bet it was worth it! Don't try to immediately jump into the same routine you had before your vacation. Work back into it a little slowly, and you'll get rid of those 9 in no time. You can do it!

Hi to everyone else, too! Good luck today. Talk to ya later!

Good morning!

I hope you are all doing ok- especially AP, Whirl and Smom!!! Take care of yourselves!!

jennielynn- that was really interesting about the types. I think I am an historical person, but wishing for how I looked in the past makes me work harder for the future.

Donuts- don't worry about gaining weight. You are probably in really good shape, and if you are your body will bounce back quickly.

I did not work out yesterday and had poor eating habits. I ate very little during the day, which left me feeling sick in the evening. By the time I was able to sit down and have dinner (8:30!!!!) I felt awful. I did well until about 10:30, when I wanted a snack, so I made nachos!!! YUCK! They didn't even taste good, but I ate them ALL.

I weighed this morning at 129-130. I will try to get to 125, but if I start loosing energy, I'll be happy here.

Good news- I got a new stove this week AND we ordered a HOT TUB Tuesday!!! That will be a great motivator for me to work out- I'll reward myself with getting in the hot tub- and I won't get in it unless I have worked out.

Other good news- I think I may have to buy new clothes again. ALL my 8's are too big and my 6's are a little too loose, also.

OKAY, sorry to ramble. Guess I am hyper this morning.... excited about going to Dallas tomorrow to spend the weekend with my best friend.

Take care of yourselves and sorry about the novel!!!!!
