FINALLY LOSING WEIGHT AFTER DEPO!!! - Weight Loss Message Board

Hello all, my name is Lauren, i am 20 years old, and I finally feel like i am on the road to recovering from my food addiction for the past 3 years. i was on depo provera for that amount of time, and gained at least 60 pounds!!! i have tried every diet out there, including atkins a few times, but some of the shot was still in my body, causing me to crave anything and everything! I recently discovered that the shot is COMPLETELY AND TOTALLY out of my system, and i started atkins on this past monday....14 POUNDS LOST SINCE LAST MONDAY!!!!!! i know some of you wont believe that, but i am tearing up with joy as i am writing this, because this has been what ive dreamed of for so long...=) i could never stick to anything, and lacked the much needed motivation, but this smal, but significant weight loss finally has me on the right track! Thank you all for listening, im sorry this is so long, but atkins has been a Godsend for me, and I just wanted to share my first experiences with all of you, and hopefully help motivate some of you that are lacking support or motivation. I was in the same boat as you one time. I have been off the Depo since Dec. 2002. Ive just started Adkins recently and although today was a bad day I have done great for 1 whole month. Good luck with your diet.

That is AWESOME!!!!!!!!! 14 Pounds in 8 days? wow...but is that healthy? I am not too familiar with the atkins diet but sounds like a gold mine. My friends daughter went on the depo shots and she gained about 60 or so pounds too.....that was about a year and a half ago and she hasn't been able to loose it...she is having a very hard time.Keep us posted in your progress I would be peeking too

Mommyoftwo, how much have you lost in a month on the atkins? I am going to look through the atkins thread here in a second I wanted to try the 3 day plan but I don't like eggs or grapefruit.

Congrads!!!on your weight loss.The first 2 weeks I was on Atkins I lost 13 lbs. I have now lost 50 lbs in 15 weeks.I feel the best on this diet plan then I have for quite awhile. Good luck to you!
