I hear a lot of people that have lost weight by just walking. And eating right of course. I was wondering how many of the ppl here have lost any weight doing this. I have started walking 1 mile a day, is that enough to start with??
I have lost weight walking and I started out by only doing 1 mile a day. I remember reading somewhere that 1 mile a day is good, 2 miles is better and 3 miles is best to really see a loss in weight. Actually after 3 miles your body becomes more susceptible to virus and such. I walk 3 miles about 5 or 6 days a week and have lost 30 lbs in the process and I also watch what I eat. Good luck with your weight loss and congratulations on starting!
After I started walking my mind set and body started changing. I walk 3 miles a day 4 days a week. I have more energy to play with my three year old now after exercising than I did without exercising. Walking does wonders and everyone can make time to do it and it doesn't require a gym membership.
Hello girls!!! I also walk 2 miles every day...or 45-50 min.I just started about 2 1/2 weeks ago and allready lost 2 dress sizes!! I'm amazed. I also eat less. I could never stick to a regular exercise program, I had work out videos, but I got bored with those..so I bought a treadmill...and I love it.
I also have workout video's I have a bunch of them. Its just so hard to want to use them. I would rather go outside and walk. I am thinking of doing pilates though 3 times a week. I also am eating less to, until I sat down and counted the calories I was eating I really didn't think I was eating that much. But I am.
I walk every day too. even if its just a mile it just makes you feel great. energy wise also.
I tried doing the 3 miles and I was exhausted felt like I was getting sick. 2 miles a day for me is just right and I do think it helps you with the weight lost. of course walking alone will not do it. have to watch what you eat and walk on a daily basis 4-5 days a week. atleast a half hour. I break mine up. I do a mile in the morning and then go out at lunch and do another mile. I find that easier for me.
good luck to you ....
I used to walk everyday with a group of mommies and our strollers (with kids in em) years ago. It was great and I lost some weight. I need to start that up again. I have been doing some treadmill at the gym but it can get boring sometimes (no scenery). If you can get a little weight training in with the walking, I think it's more effective.
I find that I am more willing to walk/exercise if I am going outside to do it. I have a few walking tapes, and and elliptical machine. But I just can't get into using them, cause its very boring. I think I will brave the rain and go walking today.
