WOO HOO!!!!! I am SO excited I can't stand it!!!! At the beginning of the summer, I bought a really cute pair of shorts without trying them on because they were a size 12 which is what I normally wear (I have some stuff in 14's but most is 12's). When I finally tried them on, they did NOT fit- I could pull them up, but couldn't zip or button them. I decided to keep them as an incentive to lose weight, went on a whole exercise but eat a gazillion carbs thing... and lost NOTHING. So all summer long these shorts have sat in my drawer. Every now and then I would try them on, but they still didn't fit. Here's the WooHoo part :) I just tried them on after eating lunch (a huge salad consisting of lettuce, cukes, celery, cheese, pork chop, and ceaser dressing) and guess what??? I CAN DO THEM UP!!!! Now, granted, I wouldn't be caught dead in them outside the house, got some work to do before they look good, but I'm getting there!!!! WOO HOO!!! I keep a dress that I have been dying to get into hanging on my closet door, it is the first thing I see when I wake up and the last thing I see before I close my eyes at night. So I am trying to do well just so I can squeeze into this dress. You are my inspiration!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :bouncing: [This message has been edited by beanies31 (edited 09-17-2003).] |

Hey , way to go. Now isnt all the crap worth it. I have a pair of pants also. I bought a couple of years ago and there is no way I will ever get in them unless I cut off one butt cheek. I mean thats how tiny they are . I must have been drinking or somethin. I think they marked them wrong and insted of size 14 there are a 4. Im very happy for you and you must feel like a million. congrats. [This message has been edited by suej1946 (edited 09-18-2003).] [This message has been edited by suej1946 (edited 09-18-2003).] |
congratulations!!!! I know that feeling, and it's terriffic!! I do that on purpose sometimes...but a pair of pants that I know will be too small...take them home and try them on to see how far I have to go before they'll fit. Then it feels sooooo good when they really do fit!! I started out doing that with size 14 this spring, and now I've had to give them all away, because I'm in a size 8! It's a terriffic feeling!!! I still have a little ways to go, but i know it'll happen! And isn't shopping fun now???? :) Sorry to have rambled!!! hahaha CONGRATULATIONS!! Keep it up! |
WOW, Autumn.... You've gone from a 14 to an 8???? I am SO impressed! I sure hope that I can stick to Atkins and get back on track with my workout routine. It's 3 days on, one day off: aerobics and crunches all 3 days, and weights 2 of the days, then I take a day off to allow my muscles to recuperate, then back to the 3 on. I would SO like to be a size 8 again (I was a size SIX 6 yrs ago, then I got pg with twins, had a miscarraige then had my son) I haven't come close since. For a long time I really didn't care if I was getting fat, too much stuff going on medically with my son, so I put myself on the bottom of my "priorities" list. Now I am thinking it's time for ME!!! |
That's wonderful!!!! Congratulations!!!!! :) |
i did the same thing with a pair of old navy shorts earlier this summer! they only had one size that was close to mine of the color that i wanted, so i decided i would get them because i wanted to be that small again! and i did!!! it is a great feeling. always remember that feeling and don't let yourself start slipping back into your old habits (i've done that too) :) |

You go girl! I'm still in shock about the pork chop! Whatever works! Don't you feel like the beginning of the T.V. show "That Girl"? Anybody else remember that? (showing my age) Anyway it's just such a "woohoo" feeling, like when Margo Thomas throws her hat up in the air at the beginning of that show. |
Chipmunkis, that's so awesome! You must feel sooooooooooo great! :bouncing: Congratulations!!! Beanies: You'll be in that dress in no time! You can do it! Amber & Sue: You're on your way, girls - keep up the good work, and you'll be wearing those pants soon! Autumn: Wow, you've been working hard - 14 to 8! WTG!!! 2boys'momma: What a great analogy - "That Girl" - LOL, I know exactly what you're talking about! I feel that way every time I hit a little milestone! |
[img]http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/dance.gif[/img] YIPPEE!! I'm so happy for you!! |
LOL 2boysmomma! :D Actually I feel like I am on this big high now, and hearing other on-the-way-to-success stories bouys me up even more. I just love that I am not feeling hungry or terribly deprived, my IBS symptoms are GONE, and I finally feel like I will succeed and reach my goal! oops, there goes the hat! ;D |
YOU GO GIRL!!!!!! |
