Hi Laura! Have you ever dieted before? If so, did you find something that worked for you? That's the key - to find a plan that makes you lose weight, but is something that you can stick with. You can try what Shel suggested, or try just lowering one of those things (carbs OR fat OR calories), or try simple portion control - different things work for different people. Are you getting any exercise? Walking is great for weight loss, but you have to walk at a fast pace, not stroll along. Try to get some cardio & some weight training. The weight training doesn't have to be anything major, just maybe some work with hand weights. Have you ever tried "The Firm" videos? They're great for a weight workout.
