Hi Laur!!
I started in May 2002 and by October I had lost 30 lbs, so that is...5 months. I only counted calories and fat grams, at that point I didn't realized watching carbs was important. Sometimes I would spread my calories evenly throughout the day, but if I knew we were going out to eat or had something special to do, I would save up my calories for that meal. I was really good about writing down what I ate and keeping track of every calorie and every fat gram. I didn't start really exercising until a few months into it. It really helped me tone up.
Any other questions feel free to ask. By the way, read up on some posts from Lindarella. She did the same thing. Unfortunately I managed to gain 15 lbs back, started when I had some female health problems, and then I went on a 7 day cruise and gained 10 lbs!! (They had way too much food on that cruise and it was amazing!! Yes I truly gained 10 lbs in 7 days!).
Good Luck to you!!
~ Shel
