My New Diet Plan What do yo think.

I need to loose a lot of weight. I want to loose around 60 Lbs. I have been on this diet for 5 days so far, and I have lost a nice 5 lbs in those 5 days. This is my diet. First I eat breakfast, and this can be anything as long as it is filling and under 300 Calories. Over the last 5 days the average calories for my breakfast was 250 Calories. Between breakfast and dinner, I eat a lot of fruits and veggies, and I mean a lot. I eat two Bananas, 50 4-inch celery sticks (yes, I mean 50 4 inch long sticks), I also have ½ of a pomegranate. Therefore, my body is constantly getting food from breakfast to dinner. All of those fruits and veggies are around 300 calories. Then for dinner I have anything I want, but it has to be filling and under 600 Calories. Therefore, my total calorie intake for the entire day is 1200 calories. Every day I have had between 1100-1200 calories this week. Now I know dieting alone is not enough so I do exercise a little. I do 50 Crunches, 30 sit-ups, a light jog for 30 minutes, and then I finish it off with 30 Jumping jacks, and 50 knee lunges. Every day so far I have lost 5 lbs on this diet, and I think that’s good for only 5 days. Only 55 more lbs to go. Do you think this diet should work if I stick to it.

Well what do you think of my plan. Will it work or not. Is this a good diet or a bad diet. Am I working out enough or not.

Re: My New Diet Plan What do yo think.

You need to be more specific. What exactly do you have for breakfast and dinner? The scarey part of this to me is that you can eat anything you want. I never really heard of the "anything you want diet plan", unless of course anything you want is all wholesome foods (which I highly doubt).

Without seeing what you eat the best way to lose weight and to maintain it is to make a lifestyle change and eat nutritious, wholesome, healthy foods. Processed foods and refined foods are not part of the equation. The new diet needs to include plently of fruits and veggies plus protein, and dairy. Diet soda, or really any kind of soda should not be included. There should be plenty of water and exercise. By eating normal sized portions and following what I have listed is a healthy way to lose weight and to maintain it.

Re: My New Diet Plan What do yo think.

To lose weight you *can* eat anything you want, but you probably shouldn't. Weight loss itself isn't a healthy state for your body to be in - think about it, if weight loss were inherently healthy you body would be inclined to do it more often. Weight loss is good for what it brings - good health at a stable weight at which you body is comfortable. That said, if you eat just anything you are probably starving your body of at least some essential nutrients. Weight loss ultimately boils down to calories in vs calories used. Your body is a piece of physical matter, it must obey the laws of thermodynamics and conservation of energy. No matter what diet plan you are on, you will not lose weight if you consume more calories than you expend. So to lose weight calories are what matters, but for good health, nutrition is what matters. Also, it is tough to keep calories down while you are eating foods high in sugar and fat.

Re: My New Diet Plan What do yo think.

As girlygirly said, you aren't quite precise enough and don't have all the exacts down for your diet plan. I believe that with the plan you are using, your body is losing weight and fat pretty fast now, but you will have to realize that with that plan, it won't be 1lb/1day. Drink lots of water, stay away from any soda or pop, but don't eliminate some juices and other liquids completley. I also don't believe your workout is enough. I don't want to be rude or boasting in anyway, but I could probably take your workout while I am sleeping. Crunches build muscles in your abs, but they don't necessarily burn fat. I would suggest you continue your job but intensify it a bit more and possibly increase the length. Try jump roping and some other cardiovascular workouts. Maybe you should hit the gym, also.

By the way, the foods you are eating in your diet, make sure you get enough of other food groups besides vegetables and fruits, I don't know if you could get enough grains and proteins in there in your day.

On the upside, your celery sticks and healthy snacks are a positive way to increase your metabolism, but perhaps you should spread them more throughout the day rather than during breakfast and dinner.

Keep up your work, don't giveup on yourself, and praise yourself everytime you stay away from ice cream or chocolate, or anything that will interfere with your diet!
