I'm not sure where you're getting your numbers, but I'm 2.5 inches taller than her, and I'd consider 120-125 MY ideal (though for me I wouldn't want to get under 120), so I think her wanting to weigh 105 or whatever she's aiming for may be within a reasonable range. She may be very small boned, have not a lot of muscle mass, etc. It's hard to say.
To the OP, I'll just say it's simple - eat less/exercise more. That's it. "They" want us all to THINK it's so complicated to lose weight because it's a HUGE cash cow - a multi billion dollar industry "helping" people to lose weight. But for most of us, it's simply about eating less and upping our activity level, and our extra pounds will melt away.
