| Re: Aspartame+cancer
The so-called controversy over aspartame (the most extensively tested food additive in history) goes back to the 80's and is based solely on the fact that the number of brain tumors jumped by 10 percent in 1984, a year after the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved the sweetener for widespread use in food and soft drinks. Similar increases in brain tumors occurred in Europe. That is it. Circumstantial evidence only.
Besides, foods containing aspartame usually contain lots of other artifical ingrediets. Diet sodas and things like that should be avoided anyway.
