Red face Venting!!!

As y'all may have read from my other posts I need to loose about 25-30 lbs. mostly from baby weight so I deicded to start the new year right. I don't eat past 6pm and I exercise for 30 mins 5 times a week. So far I've lost 7lbs, so I'm thinking ok, kind of slow, but good...I'm loosing some...

TODAY!!!UUUGH!!! I go to my hairdressing appointment and, much to my surprise, my hairdresser has lost 37 LBS., IN SIX WEEKS!!! AND HER ASSISTANT 21 LBS., IN SIX WEEKS!!!

WHY ME!?!

They're on some pill called Bontrin, a diet and some fat burners a doctor prescribed for them... DAMN IT!!!

That's why some of us get discouraged from doing it the right way.

I am SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO upset... I feel like baking a cake tonight!!!!

Re: Venting!!!

Don't let it discourage you too much. I don't even believe the hairdresser lost 37 pounds in 6 weeks unless she was huge to begin with...

Even then it's not very likely. Consider this- Each pound you lose is 3500 calories. At the rate she is talking, she lost 6.2 pounds a week or nearly a pound a day. She would have to be eating about 3000 calories less every single day to lose a pound a day. Either she was eating like a pig every day or she's not being truthful....

You're doing wonderful! You lost 7 pounds in about 30 days. That is great. Listen, you want this to be permanent. You're well on the road to doing that. Keep up the good work. Try to look into the future a little--at this rate, by May 1st you'll be down 28 pounds. Not too shabby sister!

2 years ago, I lost 35 pounds. I lost the first 25 in 5 months. Heck, time goes pretty quick. In no time you'll have your weight under control.

Re: Venting!!!

7 pounds in a month is great and you are more likely to keep it off. I bet that if you come back and see them in 12 or 24 months they may even be bigger than they were before. They are not learning how to live properly and will most likely put the weight back on once they stop taking the pills and potions.

You are doing this the right way and if you keep going you will catch them and pass them. After the initial few weeks, 2 to 4 pounds a month is good sustainable progress that can be maintained without negative affects on your body and it's metabolism. Whatever you do, don't give up.....and keep that body moving.

Re: Venting!!!

Thanks for the encouragement!!! I'm still irked by it a bit but oh well...

What get's me is that they're guitar-shaped (we're p-rican, think JLo) and to me they look droopy...Like their hips melted. And yes Lindarella, it has been in about 6 weeks. I last saw them Dec 10. I did some surfing and all Bontrin is is an appetite suppresant...so to me maybe it's the fat burners...

Re: Venting!!!

Actually Phendimetrazine (Bontril) is an amphetamine, a schedule III controlled substance.

I know you’re still irked. Just be careful getting your hair cut by someone hopped up on amphetamines. You might come out of there looking like Clay Aiken.
