| Weight loss for the busy business woman
Allright, so in January I resolved to lose weight.. I've gone on two serious weight loss programs before. One, about 4 years ago, I lost 60 pounds. Then another about two years ago where I lost 40. As you can see, these haven't worked as I'm doing a weight loss program AGAIN. I don't really have time to attend meetings, dish out money to a gym - but luckily my office building has a fitness center.
I must have a very slow metabolism as I seem to gain weight incredibly easily. So, anyhow, since January I have been exercising 30 minutes every day on the elliptical trainer and trying to eat better - now, I know I could eat better. I tend to eat a lot of heavily processed food since I am so busy. I eat a WeightWatchers "Smart Ones" meal for lunch every day. I also have a bowl of Special K for breakfast, a yogurt late in the afternoon, and I'll cook something quick for dinner. When I started this program in January I lost a few pounds relatively quickly... I started off at 220 and I made a goal to get down to 198 by my birthday (April 25 - eep, SOON). By the end of January I weighed 214 and I thought it was smooth sailing.
For the entire month of February I didn't weigh because my scale broke. Finally, I had access to a scale... and I weighed 218! I had gained 4 pounds despite working out every day and eating 1200 cals a day! So I attributed this to being on the birth control pill. So I quit taking that. On April 1 I bought my own scale, used it -- and lo and behold, I suddenly weighed 222. Then yesterday, I weighed again... 226!!
So, I've been on a diet. And I've gained 6 pounds. I know I look better, but what is with the numbers jumping around like crazy? I feel like I am doing something completely wrong! I don't think I could have a thyroid disorder as I feel fine physically.
