135 for 5'1" isnt bad nor is 125....115 in minimum for your height Like the others say, dont fall into the "body image" trap though.
You said you came up with a diet plan on your own. As long as you eat 5-6 small meals aday (about every three hours) This will keep your metabolism up to burn what stored fat you have.
Up your protein (if you havent already) cut any overprocessed/refined carbs (eat whole grains/veggies) and dropped sugary sodas.....you should be doing ok. Most times, it is not so much following a special diet like Atkins or South Beach as it is just moderating what you eat...period.
If you are having problems running around and getting winded, then exercise will help overcome that. It will help you burn the fat faster, keep your metabolism up, strengthen your body and help increase stamina. Some cardio and even some resistance lifting will do this. Just stay active overall.
Patience and give yourself time. After a few weeks of diet and exercise, you should notice your wardrobe feel abit looser although the scales will seem to say nothing has changed. It is...
