Unhappy Low Carb.....Low Calorie? What do I do?

I was on the low carb diet for a while and then i changed to low calorie but the thing is i dunno what to do because when im on the low carb everything seems to have alot of calories and on the low calorie everything seems to have high amounts of carbs! Does it still matter how many carbs i am eating if im on the low calorie?...... and vis versa. What should i do???Another thing is when i diet i tend to take things to the extreme like i exercise TOO much or i dont eat enough dieting is so confusing to me but i only have 15 more lbs to go.What should i do? thanks

Well i havent posted here in awhile but iv been doing Atkins for a month and iv lost 32 pounds and iv been cheating alot but that doesnt make it right when i cheat it took me 2 weeks to lose all the pounds i gained but now im back on track forget low calories that takes to long and is even harder than low carb just go low carb drop like 200 on meats and pack your lunch and cook your breakfest and maybe go out or make a steak for dinner thats what iv been doing iv got atkins beard that only has 3 carbs per slice so i make a sandwitch for lunch that holds me until my steak or whatever i have for dinner.

not a single diet plan is going to work for every individual. Take the differences between me and NoelAlexander for example. s/he says go low carb...yet I myself am completely against low carbing, unless it is a last ditch effort.

It depends on what you read and what you believe is the right way to lose weight. Low-carbing does give you results quicker, yet I shudder thinking about low-carbing...I don't find it healthy, and I find the diet sickening for myself. Yet NoelAlexander has had positive experience with low-carbing, s/he has found a diet that works for him/er...yet it definitely doesn't work for me =)

What has worked for me and something I can live forever on, doesn't leave me sick or tired, and I find healthy is this:

Find a low range of calories, don't go under 1200 and don't exceed something around 1500 cals. (depends on activity level, your age, gender, etc.)...on weekends, you can up your caloric intake by 200-500 cal (depending again on the above factors)...this just shakes your body up, and makes things less stressful as weekends for me are days that i don't do well with =)

always eat breakfast, and try to eat something every 3 hrs...this means having 5-6 mini meals a day

Foodwise: cut out all junkfoods and fastfoods, as many processed foods as you can, fatty foods (go non, low fat as possible)...eat instead fruits, veggies, whole grains, lean meats

liquidwise: cut out all caloric drinks, and decrease caffeine intake...drink a ton of H20

exercisewise: do at least 20 min of cardios 3-6 times a week, weight train 3 times a week...always let your body have a day of rest between weight training, and always give your body a day worth of complete rest a week

I have found this the best and easiest way to diet and live...i have all the energy i need, i never feel sick and my body feels healthy...I lose weight easily this way, though it is probably much slower compared to low-carbing...however, I have lost about 15 lbs (went from 158 lbs.-160 lbs to 143-145 lbs.) in a month and a half with this plan, so i know that it works at least for me =)

i know exactly how you feel. the low carb/high calorie and fat diet is quite confusing. my opinion is, if you feel okay doing the low carb diet and have enough energy then do it to lose that last 15lbs. however, i do not feel it is a necessary diet for life long weight control. but, for a short period of time, sure. now, your question is about how to eat the low calorie high carb food with the low carb foods. of course you need carbs, especially if you workout. what kind of foods are you talking about, like what low cal foods do you mean. when you low carb, choose fruit and veggies as your carbs and maybe one serving of wheat bread a day, if you work out alot, maybe a little more. i'm pretty sure when you low carb it, you have to do one or the other. i was on the low carb slim fast diet and i was EXTREMELY tired all the time. although, i workout an hour a day. what diet are you on? atkins? my advice would be, if you feel okay, continue the diet for that last 15 lbs. it is a good way to lose weight, but not stay on for life.

There are quite a few ppl who are on atkins for life,me being one of them.Lowfat and counting calories dont work for some ppl.Low carbing does.Ive been on both and i plan to stay on atkins for life.It all depends on what works for you.
