Are you sure you are only going 1 1/2 miles? Thats a pretty slow jog - slower than walking!

I walk 3 1/2 miles per hour, so either you are going further than you say, or you are not jogging for an hour!
Regarding your food - you should be measuring both calories AND carbs but restricting neither too drastically or more than necessary. Read the thread "How to Lose Weight " for an ideal formula:
