Loosing weight and worried!! - Weight Loss Message Board

Hi,I am fairly new here and am over weight.I am 4"11 and weigh 139.I am female,26 years old.Well,back in oct of 2004 I weighed 150.Well,now i weigh 139.I have been taking mini thins and eating less but no exersizing.I am worried that somthing else could be wrong.Is that normal weight loss with eating less and taking mini thins?Mini thins are really for ahsma,but have ephedrine in them too.I heard that ephedrine helps with weight loss.Can anybody let me know if I should be worried,Please!

Eating less does do the trick in the long run for weight loss. It sounds like the ephedra is causing you to lose the weight so quickly. Ephedra is banned here in Canada I don't know if it is in the States. It is very dangerous it causes heart problems, strokes..... I would be weary if I were you. I mean I know it seems awesome with so little effort to lose weight but it can have it's side affects.

Yes,Ephedra is banned here too but there is some places that still sell them,I dont know how but they do.(I get them from a gas station)Well,I went to the doc for a sinus infection and he also told me how bad they were for me,but said that is why I am loosing weight.I am happy I'm loosing weight but just worried that I have cancer or somthing cause it seems to be coming off pretty quick.But I have drastically cut down on eating and eat smaller portions.

What are mini thins? How much weight have you lost, and what are the dangers of them?

Mini thins are pills for ashma,but they help with weight loss cause they have ephedrine in them.The reason why they are dangerous is cause they get your heart rate up and can cause high blood pressure.I have lost 12 or 13 pounds in 3 or 4 months,give or take alittle.At first I thought it was 2 months but found out from the doc that I was at 151 in september and now I am at 139(Give or take alittle on that,it fluculates alittle bit)But the doc dont think nothing is major wrong except he did tell me not to take those.
