| Re: How do you keep from bingeing?
Jessica is right, don't reduce your calories too much, the body actually (I think) puts on weight when not getting enough calories, or maybe it just makes it harder to lose weight that way. I get confused as to which is right. Also, keep a glass of water handy, so when you feel like snacking at the wrong time, you have water instead. As far as snacks, pick healthy snacks to keep in the house, instead of junk food. You can't eat what's not there. Something that I do, is pick two nights a month when I can have a treat. That way I am not feeling deprived of anything. When I am going to have ice cream for a treat, for example, I just get a pint, and eat half one day, and the other half the next day. Another thing I do, is when I feel like having a snack, I don't go get something immediately. I find something else to do, like read a book, clean something that needs cleaning, or exercise, or shower. I do something that doesn't go with eating. Anyway, I hope that helps. Keep up the good work, and don't be too hard on yourself when you do slip up and binge, because that can lead to more binging and guilt that none of us dieters need....
