I'm not a pro on either but I believe that South Beach is kind of like a modified Atkins diet. You can eat unlimited quantities of lean meats, chicken, fish, FF chese and FF dairy and non startch veg's...no fruit during induction (2 weeks) then you gradually work in the low GI fruit. and you can also have a minimal amount of nuts and legumes.
I believe WW core allows you unlimited in lean meats, chicken, etc and veg's and limits the quantity of grains (which you can't have on SB induction at all)
I would say they are pretty similiar, maybe focus on what foods you can't live with out! I also think maybe you can lose faster on South Beach since it is more restricted?
