| Re: How can I eat less?
I, too, used to be able to eat whatever I wanted--until Depo Provera. I gained twenty-five pounds in one month, and until recently, I felt that my body was doomed to always be that way. Incidentally, I am also taking a mild antidepressant.
The shocking way I have found to less (quantity) is to eat more often--a little here, a little there. It's the foundation of a lot of "diets", and I find it really works for me. When you start to eat that way, you start to be hungry—eating speeds UP your metabolism!
I used to not eat a scrap before 2:00 pm. By then I was fanta-plus-sizing (hahah) about that gluttonous lunch I was about to have. I was so ravenous that I couldn't possibly talk myself out of it.
Now I relish breakfast #1, which falls between 7:30-8:00, BK#2 (10:30-11:30), lunch (1-2), snack (3:30-4:30), dinner (6:30-7:30)... When I’m not starving, I eat sensible things, and when I’m not starving, those sensible things taste delicious. I usually combine portions of protein and carbs at each meal (chicken, deli turkey, cottage cheese, perhaps very lean beef as protein, grapefruit, apple, broccoli, zucchini & squash, etc as carb.)
I repeat and repeat: I am no expert. Hope this helps, good luck to you.
