Re: The Perricone Diet

Certainly have heard about it. Anyone I know who has done it has had success but gets sick of salmon.

Re: The Perricone Diet

If you dont have money to buy high quality salmon, forget it. Whole canned salmon will wear on you fast. I like the packaged boneless skinless with rice, kidney beans and soy sauce, or with salsa, but not 2 times a day. And the recipes he gives are well,.. gourmet lvl.

I do recommend you sit and read his section of supplements. Alpha lipoic acid, vitamin c ester, and borage oil are all very good diet supplements to improve weight loss and blood sugar stability. Just go to a bookstore and read his book in a sitting, it'll give you a quick study on his diet, and you can incorporate what you think will help you. Alpha lipoic acid is an amazing little pill and I'm glad he mentioned it in his book. It stabilizes blood sugar, is a fat soluble antioxidant and can clear up a large amount of problems.

Re: The Perricone Diet

And for ONLY $195 you can buy a whole month's worth of his vitamins from N.V.Perricone Cosmeceuticals...what a COINCIDENCE!

Save your money. Snake Oil salesmen come and go, although usually not with enough panache to get on PBS Marathons over and over and over and over!
They used to arrive in town in horse drawn wagons and give you a little show.

Re: The Perricone Diet

You know, I didn't say "his line of supplements", and if you had read the book, you'd realise that I was discussing just what he recommends. You can buy alpha lipoic acid, vitamin c ester and borage oil all on your own from walmart or super target, less than $10 a bottle. In his book, he explains the mechanisms of what he recommends and how each differently helps your body detoxify. It's very biology heavy, but its informative to read.
