Usual pattern leads to weight gain

I noticed that my eating habits change from one week barely eating anything to the next week where I eat alot. Recently I've been stuck in the 'eat alot stage'. and I've noticed a weight gain. I am 5'6 and 130 lbs.(17) I have no muscle anywhere and have a skinny frame, lately I've noticed that I've gotten a gut. I recently noticed that it has been getting bigger and that my weight isn't going back down like it usually does. Any thoughts on why this is?? ....any thoughts?

Re: Usual pattern leads to weight gain

When I was 17, I weighed 85 lbs. (5'4, small frame). I was truly a bone, but I did have tiny tummy. Now I'm 38 and weigh 210 lbs. The weight gain occurred during pregnancy and kept going after that. If I were 17 again, and knew then what I know now, I would have exercised, especially my stomach. You see, I hated exercise, and since I was skinny, I didn't think I need it. So even though I was thin as a rail, I had no lean muscle mass. The stretch of pregnancy made a mess of my body. The moral of the story: EXERCISE and eat healthy or pay for it later...everyone's bill comes due sooner or later.

I agree 100%. I was just like weathermom (except for the pregancy part). In high school, I was skinny, I hated exercise, I didn't play sports, and had a metabolism that was ridiculously high. I could fast food every day, plus soda, plus candy bars, never exercise, and still stay skinny. No muscle on my frame, but no fat either. Things changed after 25 and the weight piled on. Now I wish I had learned to enjoy exercise and sports. I still don't like either, but I see the importance of regular exercise. But I wish I had learned the lesson much sooner. Maybe if I had learned to enjoy exercise and sports as a kid, I wouldn't have such a hard time staying active now.

Re: Usual pattern leads to weight gain

hi,
I'm not female obviously.
I agree with the both of you, I guess it's nice to be a certain weight say your weight your suppose to be your whole life give or take a few lbs (SOME PEOPLE ARE) Not me tho... but as person lives gets older it becomes harder , like weathermom mention after she had her kids her weight probably shot to the sky ... at least a woman has legitmate excuse/us men are just lazy and no excuses....I think that meaning "your not a spring chicken" anymore comes to mind.
eatting right and watching your weight is probably the hardest thing to do in life even if your in a happy realtionship.
