Has anybody ever got ****ed or maybe discourage to somewhat if your out Buffet with your spouse g/f...b/f or realtive/ friend ect,,,ect,, you look at deserts? for me it's Ice Cream (my weakness) or that big piese of mouth watering chocolate cake or maybe that /coconut cream pie, pretty piese of that strawberry cheese cake or what ever it may be and they tell you ''you better "not" eat that your on a diet you know thats a no no"...and go into details bout whats bad for you ect,,ect,, I hate that...is it just me?

They ought to be a law bout them buffet's putting them deserts out for everyone to see....do you guys agree..

LOL, I learned long ago not to advise my girlfriend on what or what not to eat. I wouldn't like someone telling me that either. It would feel like nagging, as if I didn't already know better.

Chevyman, it depends. If I had a partner, I would probably ask them to assist me in reaching my goals. I would even go so far as to request that they "catch me" if I'm on the verge of slipping. So if I was tempted to go for a dessert and they politely reminded me that I was on a diet, not only would I not be upset, I would be greatful to them for looking out for me. But if I never asked them to do that for me, then I might take issue with them telling me to avoid dessert. So I guess it depends on whether you want your partner to help you lose weight and their tone when they do offer their help.

Now if I had a partner who was trying to lose weight, I would NEVER tell her how to eat or when, unless she specifically asked for my advice. But I would be careful to never make it seem like I was talking down to her and if we went out to eat, I would assume she knew what she was doing. If she wanted dessert, I wouldn't stop her or tell her why it's bad. I'd rather she enjoy herself and not feel deprived.

My husband is pretty good about keeping comments to himself... but his brother is another story. I had an anxiety attack just before Christmas because I was so worried about what he would say about the food on my plate this time...

I tend to avoid him.

Tell your husband to tell his brother to keep his mouth shut. I would never tell my sister-in-law how to eat.
