Exercise is good period. I have found that for me, in addition to a good work out, I also need to cut my calories to lose weight. The fact is, eating a zillion calories a day packed with fat & carbs, and then only exercising three times a week, you probably won't lose any weight (unless your matabolism is out of this world,,,,)
I try and eat 1,000 to 1,200 calories per day (I am a 43 yr old woman - men generally require more) and exercise 4 to 5 times a week. Also, the calories I do eat are a good balance of proteins and carbs. I have lost 23 pounds over the past 14 weeks and feel alot better than I used to.
The whole idea is to get moving! Whether it's walking, running, eliptical or whatever, as long as you don't have any medical issues that prevent you from exercising I say go for it. If you have medical problems, see your doctor before you start any kind of diet or exercise program. (geez,,,I sound like an infomercial!!!!
