I have a horrible addiction to food. I have been doing pretty good the last few weeks and have managed to lose 15 pounds. I am still having major cravings though so I give in once a day to a little treat. I was thinking if I fasted maybe it would reset my taste buds and help me to flush my system allowing me to start fresh. I have been thinking of doing it for 1 day then working up to 3 days. Has anyone tried fasting and was it beneficial? How long does it take to clean you out? I have done basic internet search but would like to hear from someone who has done it. Thanks!
I highly doubt fasting is gonna "reset" your tastebuds! LOL If you don't have something for a long time, you won't crave it as MUCH. I know this because I am horribly addicted to chocolate, but if I resist the cravings don't get as bad.
Fasting isn't all that healthy, if you want to do it once to flush your system that's okay, but I wouldn't reccomend it 3 times a week.

No I didnt mean 3 times a week. I meant more like fast for 1 day and then wait a few weeks and try for 2 days. I was thinking maybe I could trick my body into burning more fat since it wont have anything else to burn during the fasting times. I have also been having alot of stomach upset. I was hoping the fasting would help my digestive tract by "starting over". I am still researching the idea so thats why I am asking about it so i can learn as much as I can and make a good informed decision.
I don't know much about fasting. I can't live on liquids all day...though I HAVE tried. lol I end up doing good the whole day, and when it comes to night.... downnhillllllllll. hahaha But if you ARE to try fasting you are right in doing it with juice. You still get SOME nutrients from it, so it's better than just choosing water.

If you want to fast for a day or two or even THREE, give it a shot. BUT there's no such thing as a "juice fast"...a juice DIET maybe.
A fast is nothing but water.
Let your body regulate itself to no food, it is trained by evolution to do this properly.
Drinking juices all day is living on an all-sugar diet, not a good idea. Sugar>>Insulin and Insulin retards fat burning.
I had been considering a fast for a while also and was wondering, are there any other options besides water. Is tea acceptable? How long is it safe to fast. I was thinking of 4 or 5 days. My goal is to clean out my system. Weight loss isn't really my objective.
