Anyone attempted the liquid diets?

I'm still not ready to concede and try and get approved for gastric bypass, and after having read "My Big Fat Greek Diet" I was encouraged to see that Dr. Nick (Yphantides) lost 270 pounds with a start of a liquid diet and then moving to solid food (along with exercise). BTW, he started out at 467 pounds.

Just wondering if anyone has tried the liquid diets and what the preference was among them. Thanks.

Try Medifast - it's not all liquid, but awesome results.

Re: Anyone attempted the liquid diets?

HMR Diet Solutions is the one my daughter is using and having great success with. You can either do all liquid or a combination of liquid and entrees. It is medically supervised.

However, HMR is available via internet without medical supervision. Would be best to do the medically supervised, have blood work done on regular basis. I believe a person could get into trouble doing it on their on with such a restricted diet. Need to keep the electrolytes balanced as well as sufficient nutrition.

Misty-

How are the numbers looking on the HMR program for your daughter? I'm curious as to how many calories she's consuming, how much from the shakes and how much from solid food. And of course how long she's been on the program and how much she's lost. Enquiring minds want to know.
