I'm twenty-one, female. 5' 2". Around 175 lbs. Naturally, I have a very small frame, however... needless to say, I'm not exactly tiny horizontally! I'm looking to lose weight before my wedding (next July) so that I can look great for my guy However, I've got a tiny problem. I'm out of work - and have few prospects of getting a job any time soon.
So, I'm needing to look into ways that I can lose weight without spending money on special foods or the like. I do not pay for my food, it's chosen by the people I'm staying with, so I'm most likely going to be looking at limited diet changes and upping my excersize. I know NOTHING about getting into shape. Absolutely nothing. So, help!
My biggest suggestion would be that you do this for yourself, not your "guy." Wanting to change within yourself and for yourself is the best motivator, not to look good for some guy. From there, I'd suggest watching portions (eat less) and move more (walk, sports, whatever you like).
This will be hard for you if you have to be slective as to what you eat or what type of food they cook for you and how its prepared?...
get you a calorie counting book maybe some food scales...and learn about diet and nutrition.
if you can't do that...then just eat things like unflour meats baked or grilled eat a mixture of protein, veggies, fruits, make your portion sizes about the sise of your fist, watch your sugar, its hard to cut out all sugars,so just watch that.
drink lots of water/exercise every chance you can and only take in about 1200 calories a day...this will be very hard for you if your having to be slective as to what and how your foods are prepared.
Try to stay away from fried foods/if you eat fried foods just eat low moderation, think smaller and think about what you put in your mouth every time you sit down to eat....COUNT EACH AND EVERY CALORIE.
it will be hard to lose weight for you in your situation.
be sure and eat right tho because if you eat to less of things you will go into starvation mode and you don't want that.
learn what calories are better for you as opposed to not being hungry during the day.
One way to start would be to fill your dinner plate the same way you usually do. Then take half of the food and put in into a container for the next day's lunch. You'll be eating less, you won't waste food, and you're lunch will already be pre-portioned.
Excellent suggestions above, and if you implement them now, you can practice them for the rest of your life for the good health of both you and your hubby. You can google FDA nutrition for their guidelines. If you get in the habit of walking whenever possible, you feel guilty if you don't. Jumping rope is excellent if you are so inclined.
Note: Weight lost quickly returns quickly, but you have time for a significant loss before next July.
