When should I see results?

I'm new here and I've just recently started another diet (limiting intake of carbs, low cal) and I go walking for about an hour a day and alternate it with an exercise bike and resistance training.

I used to be about 245 lbs. and now I'm about 220lbs, and 5'7. I've been on a few separate diets before and I've lost weight numerically on the scale, but physically I don't notice a thing!

So, my question is, how long does it take and how many pounds need to come off before real change shows? It's the lack of physical change that makes me get disheartened and makes me give up

Any responses appreciated

Re: When should I see results?

It took you how long to gain your weight? Be patient, it will come off. Don't give up. If you feel good, eventually you will look good. Keep watching what you are eating and make sure you get your exercise in even if only half an hour 4 or 5 times a week.

Re: When should I see results?

I've pretty much been fat my whole life but I really started progressively gaining a lot of my weight five or six years ago.

I exercise at least an hour a day, pretty much everyday if I can.
I try to eat primarily fruits and veggies, but I'm kinda stuck with what I should be having meal-wise.

Thanks so much for the reply!

Re: When should I see results?

Maybe you need to change up your exercise routine. Instead of walking, join a class for yoga or step aerobics or a weight training group. Also, you may be eating more calories than you think. I have recently started counting calories from my old Atkins book and it's amazing how much a person eats. things like salad dressing are really high in calories. Hope that helps.
