I Can't Believe It's Not Butter - SPRAY! - Weight Loss Message Board

I bought this stuff yesterday, as I need something to replace using butter with when I make grilled cheese sandwiches and that. Actually, I used ICBINB "lite" up until now.

Here's my question - HOWWWW does it not contain calories? Something like this has to...only water is calorire free. lol Even though it's main ingredient is water, it contains some sorta oil and buttercream stuff, how does it not contain ANY fat or ANY calories? This confuses me...please help explain?

I don't know, but is it GOOD? I need a butter substitute for my veggies.

MmMmM...holy crap YES it is good! I toasted a bagel and used the spray instead of the tub, you totally can not even taste the difference. I seriously "can't believe it's not butter!" LOL

I know, I could LIVE on the stuff and have always wondered that about tha calories as well. Of course, I am sure I use far more than the number of "sprays" listed as a serving size. That probably doesn't help me out!!

Em,

It's a matter of quantity. A single "spray" is vanishingly small but as long as it contains less than 5 calories, it can be called ZERO legally. Thus each spray might be 4 calories and thus 10 sprays is 40 calories.
It's the "tiny serving size" game.

For example, if you defined a serving of sugar as 1/4 teaspoon (4 calories) it COULD be legally labelled ZERO CALORIES. Wheee, sugar has no calories.

Beware the portion size ruse.
