When will Alli be sold OTC? - Weight Loss Message Board

The website says that it will be this summer. Where will it be sold? When will it be sold?

Also, I have a question about Alli. I understand how it helps your body to not absorb the fat you consume. What about the fat that is already on my @$$????? Does it help to ward off that?!?! I am just confused and do not want to waste time on a dead end.

I have never heard of alli, but if it is like most fat blockers, it only blocks the fat that you eat so that your body will burn it's own fat instead of adding the new fat that you ate to your body. I was just given a script for xenical , fat blocker, pharmacist said it too will soon be otc. Wish I could help you more but I'm new to this type of diet. Usta

Yes, summer and OTC meaning drugstores everywhere (atleast in the U.S.)pretty much!

The basic idea is that it helps to pass the fat you eat out of your system (similar to many other RX weightloss meds of the day). Thus you are both aiding weightloss by ingesting less fat, and the hope is that when you "get active" your body will burn it's own fat more readily.

I won't be rushing to the stores, but that's the premise, just to answer your question. I'm not for or against it at the moment!

So...will the body begin to use its fat reserves to compensate for the fat that you are evacuating? The body does need fat to survive, right?

I can't wait for Alli. I hope it works. I am 147 lbs and 5'3. That is overweight according to the BMI. I need to do something. I've been doing the elliptical daily for about a half hour to an hour....but thats not working. I'm also eating sensibly. I don't know whats wrong with me. Its either this or something drastic.

I heard that Alli is the OTC for of Xenical but not as strong. I don't know if it will have the same common side effect (the "leaking"), maybe not since it won't be as strong. dkd, don't get discouraged. I'm about the same weight and I try to do the elliptical or treadmill 3 to 4 times a week for about a half hour and also some light weight training on the machines at the "Y", and combining that with eating healthier. I figure I didn't get like this overnight but only this lifestyle change will give me the long term results I want. Try not to focus so much on the numbers on the scale and instead pay attention to how you feel and how your clothes fit. I have notice that some things are looser in some places and also that I sleep better and am starting to have more energy. Just please don't get discouraged and keep up the good work and positive changes you've made.
