At eighteen you want to be somewhat leaner than the "healthy weight of an adult"...the commonest formulae show a rrange of between 171-195. I'm going to weigh in at 170-180, because as you age it is so easy to passs the 190, 200, 210, 220, 230, 240 marks.
Medical Recommendation based on a Body Mass Index (BMI) range of 19-25, gives a weight range of 152 - 200.
I STRONGLY recommend a diet of at least 1500 calories/day or slightly more because a diet of 1200 calories WILL adjust your metabolic rate down and you will find it harder and harder to keep losing...and then almost impossible to stay at the lower weight.
Don't worry, even at 1500 calories you will lose weight like a house on fire.
